Ina May Gaskin Wins Award

Ina May Gaskin, Mother of Direct-Entry Midwifery in the U.S. recently won the prestigious Right Livlihood Award for outstanding vision and work on behalf of our planet and its people. The award is considered the alternative Nobel Prize Award.


She won the award “… for her whole-life’s work teaching and advocating safe, woman-centred childbirth methods that best promote the physical and mental health of mother and child.“

  2. I agree with you LP, she is an amazing women! She has cut back on her deliveries and now is working towards lowering and bringing awareness to mother mortality rates. Yeah!
